Fat Burning Tips – Diet
The very first thing to do if you want to burn fat is evaluate your current diet. By focusing on eating healthily and cutting out sugar filled, fat laden junk food that has little to no nutritional value, you will automatically burn fat and lose weight.
One of the most effective fat burning tips I can pass on is to swap fried foods for grilled, baked or steamed. This simple change could enable you to eat many of the foods you currently do, and still shed pounds. For example, swapping a 3 ounce serving of fried Tilapia for a 3 ounce serving of baked Tilapia, will result in a saving of 88 calories and 8.3 grams of fat.
If you really can’t live without French fries, you can save a whooping 271 calories and 14.5 grams of fat for every 3 ounce serving you eat by choosing to bake rather than fry. Anyone used to eating a lot of fried food may think that alternative cooking methods will result in a meal that is bland, but nothing could be further from the truth. By using fresh herbs and spices your meals will not only be more flavorsome, you will be able to change the taste of them every day by varying the herbs and spices you use. This will help to avoid boredom, which is a major reason people fall off the wagon and give in to temptation when they are trying to lose weight.
If you have a sweet tooth you can still eat dessert if you choose sensibly. By opting for fresh or canned fruit salad in natural juice with no added sugar, rather than a bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce, you will satisfy your sugar craving in a healthy way and take in a lot less fat and calories in the process. Changes such as these are quite small and doable, and they will make a big difference. If you only have five to ten pounds to lose, this can be a way of doing so without having to diet as such.
Fat Burning Tips – Exercise
The next of my fat burning tips involves exercise. If you’ve never exercised before, the very thought of having to stick to an exercise can be too much for some people and they can easily give up before they even begin.
The first thing you should do when attempting to lose weight through exercise is increase your activity level. Exercise burns calories. The more exercise you do, the more calories you will burn. That is not to say you should exercise for hours on end every day. If you haven’t exercised before start with twenty minutes, or even fifteen. From there you can build up to thirty minutes, then forty minutes then an hour. While this may sound daunting now, most people find that once they start exercising it becomes quite addictive.
If you can’t manage one hour of exercise at a stretch, it’s perfectly okay to cut your exercise sessions into two thirty minute segments. For anyone who just doesn’t have the time to put in an hour a day, one thirty minute exercise session or even two fifteen minute workouts will still burn calories, tone your muscles and increase your fitness level.
If you’ve never viewed yourself as being athletic or if you are worried you won’t be able to keep up at an aerobics class, start with walking. Walking for weight loss is one of the easiest and most cost effective forms of exercise. The only thing you will need to buy is a pair of comfortable walking shoes that offer good foot support. If you have a friend who is also keen on getting into shape, team up. Having a workout partner will keep you motivated and help you to stay on track and not be tempted to skip workouts. It can also make exercising a lot easier on those inevitable days that you just don’t feel like it.
When your fitness level improves a little you may want to try another form of exercise, or maybe even join a gym. By varying your workouts you will challenge more muscle groups and, therefore, tone up faster. By mixing things up the likelihood of becoming tired of the same routine week in, week out, will be eliminated, so you will be more likely to stick with it.
I hope you found these fat burning tips helpful. Getting into shape need not be difficult. If you make even small changes and you are consistent, you will get results.Google+
