Detox diets for weight lossDoes it seem you’ve tried just about every kind of diet out there in an attempt to lose weight, to no avail?  From the popular but ineffective and at times dangerous starvation diet, to the 6 meals a day diet plans, to ever more outrageous and unbelievable diets which just do not work?  Then why not try detox diets for weight loss?  If this is the first time you have heard of detox, fear not, it is not anything new.  It is just a term used to abbreviate detoxification.  Detox has proven to be not only one of the most effective, but also one of the healthiest methods of weight loss.

Detox, or detoxification, refers to the cleansing of the body through natural processes such as eating the proper nutritional foods, massage or acupuncture.  These all help to eliminate the trapped oxidants within our body that slow down weight loss.  Detox diets for weight loss might be a new concept for you, but rest assured that when you read about some of these diets they will probably sound familiar.

With detox becoming really popular nowadays, it will come as no surprise that there are dozens of different detox diets for weight loss.  Following are three of the most famous detox diets which are worth trying.

Green is Clean

This diet involves changing every single thing you eat to every naturally colored green food out there.  In short: only eat green vegetables, fruits, and other natural greens.  This may take a little getting used to, but it will not be something that you’ll need to do for ever.  Eating pure greens might make you feel a little weak at first, because greens don’t contain protein as is found in food such as dairy products and meat, and is what your body burns for energy.  However, make no mistake about it: when you do get used to this diet, you will feel healthier anf stronger than when you ate those greasy-filled fast foods.

The Fruit Flush

Created by one of the great detox dietitians, this eating plan is currently one of the most popular detox diets for weight loss.  The diet lasts for 3 full days during which time all you eat, or rather drink, in the first day are juices or drinks completely made out of pure, fresh fruit.  Days two and three have you eating the following fruit combination:

2 cups of cantaloupe

2 cups of strawberry

1 medium banana

2 medium apples

1 large mango

3 to 6 cups of raw vegetable salad and half an avocado and a protein drink

Raw Food

The most popular, and most used of the detox diets for weight loss, this diet does not involve eating 100% raw food every single meal; only 52% of every meal.  Go about your every day diet, but make sure 52% of your every meal is made up of raw foods.  Never should your cooked or processed food intake be more than your raw food intake.   That is the rule of this diet.  As simple as that, and you will have had a full body detox.
